How it works

One response process across your connected care systems.

Every alert, wherever it comes from, follows the same path: raised, routed, acknowledged, escalated if needed, attended and reported. Here is that path without the technical overload.

The three-step view

  1. 1

    An alert is triggered

Through a nurse call button, bathroom pull cord, pressure mat, DryWatch sheet or connected third-party system.

  2. 2

The right staff member is notified

CareBell sends the alert directly to the appropriate staff device, with the location and priority clearly identified.

  3. 3

    Management gains a complete view

Responses are tracked, creating visibility, accountability and useful operational reporting.

The full process, step by step

Technical detail is available in the expandable sections further down.

  1. 01

    Alert sources

Nurse call buttons, bathroom pull cords, pressure mats, DryWatch sheets and compatible third-party systems raise alerts. Each carries its location and type.

  2. 02

    Routing and assignment

CareBell sends the alert to the appropriate carer's mobile phone according to room, role and shift. Alerts can be assigned to a named staff member.

  3. 03

    Acknowledgement

A staff member accepts the alert on their phone. Everyone else sees that it has been taken, so two people do not go and nobody assumes someone else has.

  4. 04

    Escalation

If an alert is not accepted or resolved within the agreed time, it escalates to additional staff or a senior on duty. The escalation is recorded.

  5. 05

    Attendance

The response is closed when attended. Activation, acknowledgement and attendance times are recorded together.

  6. 06

    Reporting

Management sees live status on the dashboard — desktop, laptop or tablet — and can review activity by shift, staff member, resident or room, alert type and location — with a searchable history.

Resilience

Wi-Fi coverage is assessed before installation. A defined process for connectivity or device failure is agreed with your team during onboarding, so staff know what to do and management knows what was affected.

Exact offline and failure-mode wording, hosting arrangements and security standards are confirmed in your proposal before publication.

Introduced around your operation, not imposed on it.

A phased, practical process led by people who understand how a care home actually runs across a 24-hour day.

  1. Step 1
